What breed of cat is Ikiru?

He’s an exotic shorthair with seal point markings. He is a pedigree breed, and part of the Persian family of cats. We think he might have some Himalayan heritage too. His dad was very chonky.


How did Ikiru get his name?

Ikiru means ‘life’ or ‘to live’ in Japanese. He’s named after the beautiful 1952 film Ikiru by legendary director Akira Kurosawa.


How do you pronounce his name?

It’s really simple. Just say Eeee Key Ruuu.


Does Ikiru have any nicknames?

How old is Ikiru?

Ikiru is currently seven years, although acts like a kitten most of the time.


Does his tongue always stick out?

No it just seems that way. He does love to blep, mlem and is generally derpy. He mainly sticks his tongue out when playing, or if we are taking photos. He loves the camera.


What’s Ikiru’s favourite food?

Ikiru adores tuna, and most types of fish. He’s also very fond of turkey.
